Computers and Internet
The evolution of computer related measurement units has a short history comparing to other measurements units.
The basic unit - bit, evolved from the way current computers work, a computer , basically , is a collection of electric circuit breakers which can be in one of two states: open or closed.
When theoretically designed, engineers use the letters 1 (closed) and 0 (open) in order to describe such switches, and a new language was born - the computer language which is basically a binary base.
With the developement of Internet , Intranet and computer networking, there was a need to describe data transmission rate speed, so a divisioin with time was done (bits per second - bps)
